56: 4 Month Well Check

Madeline Claire had an appointment for her 4 month well check today.

Weight: 12 pounds, 8 ounces (25th percentile)
Height: 24 1/2 inches (50th percentile)
Head Circumference (50th percentile)

She got 3 vaccines.
Dr. Wiley said she looks perfect...keep feeding her and playing with her. She is thriving!

What is else is going on with Madeline Claire?

Eating: Nursing about 8-10 times per day. She drinks a bottle of breast milk every once in a while. Lately, if I leave her with a bottle, she will drink about an ounce, and refuses to drink any more of it.

Sleeping: She is sleeping much better. Her pattern is still a little unpredictable, but she isn't staying up until the wee hours of the morning, most nights. She goes to bed about 11:00 and usually sleeps until about 4:00...nurses again at 6:00, and is up for the day about 8:00. She takes a long morning nap about 10:00, an afternoon nap at 2:00 and cat naps in the evenings.

Temperament: Easy going and sweet. She only cries when she is hungry or overly tired. She is sometimes a "hip monkey." She loves to be held.

Other things: She is smiling, cooing, and laughing. She has grown out of most of her 0-3 month clothes, and is wearing mostly 3-6 month outfits. She wears a 1-2 in diapers. She loves a little panda bear I bought her to be on her face when she is sleepy. Oh, and she loves enormous bows in her hair! She is super fun.

57: Happy Birthday, Dear Jackson

Happy Birthday, Jackson Blake Freeman! Sweet boy, I am so thankful for you. Waking up every day and getting to be your mommy makes my heart happy. Your wonder, curiosity, and amazement in ordinary things is simply contagious. Your innocent and carefree spirit is something that I hope you always keep in your heart. I am so proud of you, too. You have transitioned into being a big brother better than I ever imagined. Thank you for loving your little sister, in only the way that you could. It brings me pure joy to watch the two of you together. I love that you love your Thomas trains so much, and that you think Lightning McQueen is so awesome. I love that you want to watch The Cat in the Hat as soon as you wake up...you love that predictability, just like your mommy and daddy! I think it is so cute how you always have little trinkets in your hands to sleep with...it is never the same thing...a train, a book, a car...you never know. I love going to Target and getting an Icee with you and strolling around and looking at toys together. I love watching you play with your little friends. You really are my sunshine. Watching you grow up every day really is a gift straight from our Heavenly Father. Jackson, thank you for 3 years of smiles, and 3 years of pure joy. Just like the life verse daddy and I picked out for you says....every good and perfect gift really is from above. I love you, buddy! Happy Birthday!
