Week 16 of 2013 in Pics

"Your greatest contribution to the kingdom of God may not be something you do, but someone you raise." -Andy Stanley

Someone posted this quote on Facebook the other day, and I just loved it.  My days with Jackson and Claire are a treasure, a gift from Him.  The same little hands that draw on the driveway with chalk, roll choo choo trains, play babies, and climb everything in sight are going to do amazing things for His kingdom!  I am so thankful for my children.

2.5

This doll baby was 2 and a half on April 14.  We are still totally smitten by this baby, and love the little girl she is becoming.  This girl loves music!   She loves to sing, and has a such a  sweet voice.  Her favorites are "Tis so Sweet to Trust in Jesus,"  "Awesome," "Mary had a Little Lamb," and "You are my Sunshine."  She loves her baby dolls, Little People, getting her nails painted, and playing in her kitchen.  She loves books (Going on a Bear Hunt is still a favorite and Cookie's Day).  Her favorite person to play with is Jackson, and she loves going to church.  She loves Arnera (Panera) and Starbucks.  She also loves Target. :)

She wears a 2T in clothes these days, and some 18-24 months.  She is still a tiny thing, but seems to be getting a little taller.  She weighs a whopping 25 pounds.  She eats well and is healthy, though!  Her favorite foods are oatmeal, pancakes, biscuits, apples, applesauce, peanut butter sandwiches, CHEESE, yogurt, bananas, rice, shredded turkey, and sometimes chicken.  She is not a veggie lover, but we are working on it! She loves ice water!

She is still the most amazing sleeper!  She prefers to go to bed between 6:30 and 7:00, and sleeps until 8:00 the next morning.  She takes a 2 hour nap every single day.  She wants a paci (don't judge :) ), two "wankies" (blankets), her Minnie Mouse pillow, and another blanket covering her up.  Her sound machine must be on with her door shut.  Her conditions for sleep are quite demanding, though.

I may add more later, but wanted to do an update on my baby girl...who is on her way to age THREE!!

Week 15 of 2013 In Pics

A couple of weeks ago, Blake and I kept hearing a scratching sound outside our bedroom window about 4:00 every morning.  I actually just heard it, and then Blake heard it after I woke him up.  We could not find what it was (think flashlights and pajama pants).  We discovered some creature had dug a burrow on our AC unit and made a nice home.  I called the wildlife branch of our pest control company.  They said it sounded like a freaking armadillo.  This would also explain why we have had no ant problems this spring (an armadillo eats as many as 30, 000 ants in a single meal).  The above pic shows Jackson getting ready to take care of the critter with a light saber and shovel.  Turns out it was a raccoon...not as exciting as an armadillo, but we are so, so, so thankful that the raccoon did not tear up our HVAC.  Mr. Wildlife said raccoons often chew up all the wiring, sometimes electrocute themselves and die in the unit causing a horrific smell.  Can you imagine??  So, we filled the little suckers home up with gravel and dirt, and a small boulder and haven't seen him again.

Spring Break 2013

Last week Blake was on Spring Break.  We did some fun things here in our town on our Staycation!
