Good Night, Crib

So, on a whim, we decided that Claire is completely potty trained, we would make the full transition into "big girl" and take her crib apart.  This was probably a fabulous idea so that we could get used to these new sleeping arrangements before Blake goes back to work!!  Claire was super duper excited.  I was super duper nervous, because she is a FABULOUS sleeper!  She is doing okay, but there is an adjustment curve.  She hasn't taken a nap yet.  But, this could be due to the fact that Blake has been off work and we have had no schedule at all in two weeks!  We will see how Monday goes.  It will all work out.  We also took her pacifier away (don't judge!).  I was going to take it away sooner, but after a conversation with the dentist, he told me to chill out about it, and she would quit taking it on her terms.  Imagine that!  If you truly know Claire, you can totally appreciate that comment!  We did try to take it away (she only gets it at night), and it was terrible.  She turns into this creature I am not sure I even recognize!  So, perhaps by the end of 2014, she can go to sleep without her favorite accessory.

Christmas with the Johnsons

After we left my parents' house, we went to Bill's house for a late lunch.  We exchanged gifts with the Johnson side of the family.  Jackson and Claire were evidently feeling up for a photo shoot, especially Claire!  We ended our Christmas day by coming home.  Both sets of grandparents came to visit and see what Jackson and Claire got for Christmas.  It was a busy, but very fun day!

Christmas with Nana and Papa

After we have our little family Christmas on Christmas Day morning, we always go to my parents house next for a late breakfast and opening presents!!  We had such a fun time!  My favorite gift I gave was to my mom.  I had someone make her a pillow to match her living room.  It was so cute!!  My parents gave Claire a reading chair for her room, and Jackson got his very own train set!  It is a starter Lionel train set that we can add to, and it even says "Chattanooga" on it.

First Snow of 2014

Jackson wanted a snow board for Christmas.   He loves, loves, loves SNOW!  We bought him a little penguin sled at Target.  Much to our surprise, we woke up on Friday morning with a lovely dusting of snow!  Poor Jackson immediately raced up to the attic to get his "snowboard."  Blake pulled Jackson and Claire around the yard until they were only sledding on grass!  Hopefully, this is the first of many snow days for 2014!!
