Studiopendous 2012

Last night, we went to Studiopendous at Jackson's school. Each child sold tickets, and the tickets included dinner catered by Carrabas, a tour of the student art gallery, and a number to participate in a silent and live auction. It was a chance for Jackson to show off his art work, and for his school to have a fundraiser. He was so excited!

Dinner

A mosaic Jackson's class made for the live auction. It sold for only $275 dollars in the Live Auction. I have never been to an auction before, and it was quite an experience. We have a $5 book with a picture of the lovely mosaic as a keepsake.

Jackson's watercolor. All of the artwork was mounted and titled just like a real art museum.

So proud! I love this boy!

As you can see, Jackson titled this CD mosaic he made "For Sister." My heart grew about three sizes when I realized what he had made for Claire.

All of the other students had picked out rocks and gemstones for their mosaics. Jackson picked out all of the girliest, shiniest, most sparkly items, and made this for Claire. The art teacher told me Jackson was so excited that he had made this specifically for Claire. He had really put thought into it, because he has noticed she loves "bling" and sparkly stuff!

This is a collage Jackson made. He explained that it was light black, not gray. He also said they hung it upside down, and pointed out he had made a monster truck and a thing for it to jump over.

I am so proud of Jackson! He is such a thoughtful and kind little boy. He has my heart!

There are disadvantages to a 7:00 bedtime! Ha!

Jack's Birthday Party

We had Jack's birthday party at the Creative Discovery Museum on Saturday. It was a Batman party. We invited our families and several of his buddies. He had such a great time. We are so thankful to everyone to came and shared in our son's special day.

A Four Year Old Celebration

Today, Jackson's class celebrated his birthday. Instead of doing snacks, the students make the birthday student a piece of artwork. I got to be there this morning while they presented Jackson with his birthday gift during Morning Meeting. They all came over and sat on the carpet.
The recited the Pledge of Allegiance, and sang "The Good Morning Song."

And talked about how Jackson is now FOUR!

His artwork!

The little friends standing around him were on the birthday planning committee and helped pick out colors and designs for the painting. Isn't that sweet??

I love, love his school!!

Sunday Snapshots: Jackson is FOUR Edition

Jackson turned four on Sunday! We gave him his birthday present before church, a "My First Trampoline." We have already got many, many hours of enjoyment out of it. We went to church Sunday morning, and then headed to Nandee and Pops for lunch. We came home, and made plans to take Jackson out to dinner. He picked Red Lobster. That is his very favorite restaurant. We just enjoyed being together and celebrated our very funny little boy.

3: 15 Month Check Up and Fun at Jack's Favorite Place

Claire at Dr. Wiley's Office.
Jackson wanted to go to Barnes and Noble after we left the doctor's office. I was nice enough to share my gift card with him. :) I can't say no when he wants book, and I think he secretly knows that. All cuddled up in his new reading chair. With his throw. Like mother (and father), like son.

On Tuesday, Claire had her 15 month check up. She weighed 19 pounds, 13 ounces (10th percentile), and was 28 1/4 in length (10th percentile. Her head was in the 75th percentile. She got a great report from the doctor. Her ears are even clear, for the first time since October. Dr. Wiley put her on Singulair a couple of weeks ago, and it seems to really be helping with the constant snot and cough.

She is so much fun! We love her so much. She is talking a ton, and loves to be held. All the time! I told my mother in law the other day that I needed to find a way to permanently attach her to my hip. She says, "Mommy, hold me," most anytime she is not in my arms. Other words she says are: Jack, Daddy, Nandee, Nana, Papa, Pop, Brad, Lady, dog, whoof, cat, wa-ee (water), yo-gi (yogurt), bitey (bite), paci, need a paci, book, eye, read, hey, banana, cookie, Away (singing Away in a Manger), Amen, cracker, wow, nite nite, bye bye, and her newest favorite, NO!!.

She is still not walking, but is pulling up and cruising around the furniture now. She has not taken any steps, yet. She is climbing alot, and we have to keep an extra eye on her. She is pretty fearless. Jackson was always, and still is, very cautious, and she is not.

The girl can eat! Her favorites are oatmeal, sweet potatoes, peas, green beans, rice, pasta, applesauce, bananas, yogurt, cheese and grapes. She also loves Ritz Crackers, and will only drink water, and sometimes a little milk. She does not care for meat or juice, at all. She has a sweet tooth, too...loved my mom's chocolate pie she made New Year's Day. Also loves vanilla ice cream.

She loves to sing, dance, and be read to. She likes to play with Little People, and Jackson's cars and trains. We love her so much...I am enjoying every moment with them both, because it really is going by. Way. Too. Fast.

Jackson's Preschool Program

I should have know the morning was going to be interesting when I gouged myself in the head with my thumbnail and started profusely bleeding while I was drying my hair. Would NOT stop bleeding. I think I will have a scar. Have I mentioned that I don't even have long fingernails? Seriously.

Waiting on brother. After he had pitched a fit all the way to school about his sweater. No more reindeer sweater for Jackson. He said Callie would not like it (??) and people would call him reindeer boy. He did not mention his reasons until the parking lot, or I guess I would have let him change his shirt.

Looking okay.

Hmmm....

Yep, this one sums it up. Jackson sat on the stage for the entire theatrical portion of his "Moonbeams" performance without the utterance of one syllable. He refused the lummy sticks during the instrument demonstration.

He did, however, enjoy the science demonstration. His class had been doing a study on natural and artificial light, and he is very intrigued by it.

Jackson is his own little person. Gotta love him. I know I do.
