Yard Sale?

I have blogged several times about my process of removing all of the clutter from our house, and trying to get everything super organized. I have recently taken this purging to a whole new level, as I have been thinking about another little person coming to live in our home. I have recently attacked the following areas: master bedroom closet (does anyone else have a hard time keeping their closet clean?), Jackson's closet and bedroom, the office (future nursery), and garage. The garage has all of my teaching materials in it (which I will probably use in the future), and seasonal classroom decorations. So....we have accumulated lots of stuff that we wanted/needed to get rid of. Rather than loaded up many, many garbage bags of stuff to donate....we decided to participate in a yard sale with our neighbors across the street. I priced everything yesterday, borrowed a few tables from some family, got change, and neatly arranged my items last night. This morning, Blake and I got our folding chairs out, moved our tables to the driveway, and waited for our first customer. The big ticket items that I had hoped to sell were an entertainment center, an iron, and maybe even a bridesmaid dress. We had customers...but no one really bought our stuff. I sold a sheet of stickers, and a rejected Happy Meal toy. That's all. We made $1.50. Maybe we will try again, or maybe we will just donate. Blake and I always have really weird things happen to us, so I guess it is just another funny story to write down in our book.

Maybe it was today's weather. I know I might not have gone out today since it wasn't pretty. Did you advertise on Craigslist? I can't believe you only made a $1.50! That is something for the books!

I cannot believe this. Huh. Next time, put an add in the paper? It is rather funny, but I bet you were mad that you spent so much time getting it ready for a whopping buck fifty.

You poor thing! I know it takes a lot of time to put yard sales together and then nothing...well a little something! Girl that sounds like something that would happen to me and Chuck! We are planning one soon...hopefully you have better luck next time!

I had to laugh about that. That's terrible and funny. Which reminds me of a terrible funny story of my own I'll have to share one day. IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, TRY TRY AGAIN!
