On Saturday night, Blake challenged me in the "Bowling for Pumpkins 2009 Tournament." I won. My pumpkin went further into the woods than Blake's. Ha.
My mom found this magnetic Santa for Jackson last year. He loves to play with the magnets. So does his dad. :)

Thanksgiving Day, Take 2
We had a really great Thanksgiving this year. We woke up Thursday morning, and had some time at our house with our "little family," just the three of us. I made strawberry muffins, and we watched the Macy's Day Parade. We then went to Blake's grandparents house and had a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Blake played poker and a game called Buzz Word with some of his family. That game is really fun to play with a big group of people. We then went to my parents' house, and watched "Four Christmases."

Thanksgiving Meal, Take 1
My mom and dad hosted Thanksgiving dinner at their house on Sunday afternoon. We really enjoyed being able to go to their house, stay a long time, and not have to eat teaspoons of food, in order to save room for our next stop! My mom cooked an AMAZING meal! We had turkey (of course), dressing, green bean casserole, squash casserole, creamed corn, sweet potato casserole, green beans, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, hashbrown casserole, pumpkin cake, rolls, cookies, and lots of other stuff that I can't even think of right now! I can't believe that I didn't get more pictures, but Blake and I were kind of busy keeping Jackson off the stairs, off the pool table, and from getting injured, in general. It was a great Sunday afternoon.
Count Those Blessings
Blake and I were standing in the kitchen tonight having a conversation about squash casserole, pumpkin bread, and rolls. The conversation suddenly changed from Thanksgiving side dishes, to giving thanks. We started talking about all of the reasons we have to be thankful, and the list went on and on. We were both in the kitchen all teary eyed before it was over. God has just been so faithful to our family. The Lord has answered so many prayers, given us guidance, and provided for us in so many ways. I pray that each of you have a blessed day tomorrow! Happy Thanksgiving!

Mr. Independent
Jackson has been so sweet this week, and it seems like he has grown a ton, and just keeps doing and saying new things every day. It is crazy! Last night, Blake was giving Jackson a bath, and Blake called me into the bathroom. Jackson had grabbed the washcloth from Blake, and said, "My do it." He didn't want Blake to wash him anymore. Then tonight, we went to visit Blake at work. As Blake was going back inside the school, Jackson said, "My Daddy! I love you!" He continued to say it as we were driving home. Last night, he woke up about 3 AM, and stood up in his crib, and yelled, "Mama, I want juice." Why does this growing up thing happen so fast?
