Unit Study: We continued our study of maps. We checked out a DVD at the library, drew maps of Jackson's choice (focusing on drawing a map key and compass rose). We went to the Creative Discovery Museum and Jackson used my phone to take pictures of the various maps in the museum and we discussed the information on the map. We also colored several maps, focusing on land and water differences. My favorite impromptu map lesson was at the fire hall. Opem Brad showed him the book of maps he has on his fire truck and where all the fire hydrants in the city of Chattanooga are located. SUPER COOL!!! We are going back this week to see the maps inside the station.
