Happy Birthday, Pop!

Yesterday, Blake's dad, most commonly known as Pop these days, celebrated his 60th birthday.  Darla threw a small surprise birthday party for both sides of his family at the Helicopter Park last night.  Blake and Brad "roasted" their dad, and told some funny Donnie stories.  We love you, Pop!  Hope you had a great birthday!

Father's Day 2012

I love my little family, and I am head over heels in love with my husband.  He is an amazing leader and provider for our family, and I am so very thankful for everything he does for us.  He loves our children so very much, and spends every moment that he is at home with us.  He is selfless, a hard worker, and my best friend.  Jackson and Claire adore him.  He is a fun dad!  Always taking time to throw a baseball, kick a soccer ball, and run laps around the house with Jackson.  He throws Claire around the swimming pool just to hear her laugh, plays tea party, and reads books in a way more fun voice than I do.  Heck, he even irons his own clothes.  I am not gonna lie...he irons all of our clothes.  He really is my match made in heaven.  I love him.  Happy Father's Day, Blake.

Random

I am so thankful they have each other.

Jackson's school posted this on Facebook the other day.  They have been working on the playground this summer, and are creating a fossil digging area on the playground.  How fun!
I have been wanting to make Jack and Claire's bathroom look like a child's bathroom.  I found this curtain, shower curtain clips, and toothbrush holder on clearance at Target (how I love thee), all for under $10.  If I had paid full price, it would have costs $40.
Chik Fil A and the mall playground.  Still something we love to do.
This picture defines Jack.
Last week's fun. Jack was broke out in hives all over his torso.  He needs to eat a few sandwiches (and a cookie).
I love this man, and so does his son!

Creative Discovery Museum: Tinkertoy Exbibit

Today, we met our friends Amy, Livi, and Kenzi at the Creative Discovery Museum.  The Tinkertoy exhibit was pretty neat.  He was most fascinated with the bee keeper exhibit, dinosaur exhibit, and the outdoor area on the roof.   We had a great time, but there was a grumpy lady working in the "Little Yellow House" that was cracking me up.  I think she was having a bad day, or just didn't like children.  The "Little Yellow House" is an exhibit designed for children 4 and under, and she went behind the kids picking up every toy they got out with this mechanical claw.  I think she must have worked at the Smithsonian before, and forgot she was working in a children's museum. Our membership expires August 1, and I plan to take Jackson and Claire back many times before it expires!  Love that place.

Vacation Getaway 2012

Last Wednesday-Sunday, we went to Gatlinburg with Donnie, Darla, Brad, and Lydia.  We stayed in a cabin in the Great Smoky Mountains.  We had the best time just hanging out.  My children mostly loved the cable television and the amount of junk food we let them eat!  I read a book, talked to my wonderful husband alot, and played with my babies!  No cooking, cleaning, or laundry for five days.  Well, I did do laundry.  They had a washer and dryer there, and I washed everything before we came home.  We went to Pancake Pantry, and I ate Chocolate Chip Pancakes with Peanut Butter Syrup.  So bad, I know.  But, they were SOOOOO good.  We went to the Titanic Museum, Hard Rock Cafe, and walked around the neat little shops in Gatlinburg.  We hit up the Disney Store at the Outlet Mall, which Jack and Claire LOVED.  Nandee and Pop, thanks for taking us on a fun and relaxing vacation.  We can't wait to do it again!

Water Play Day

Friday, Robin and I met at the Warner Park Splash Pad.  Well, they didn't open for the season until Saturday.  We were a day early!

So, we decided to take our posse to the Aquarium water play area, and I honestly think they may have had more fun...and it was free!  We ate lunch, and ended the day with ice cream from Ben&Jerry's. I love summer!!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Claire gave us tickets to go see the Lookouts Saturday night.  We had seats on the second row, right behind home plate!  They were great seats, and we had a great time! Our little ones made it until about the 5th inning, and they were ready to go.  Fun night for sure!

Did you know that you can't get the infamous ice cream in a little baseball hat anymore?  First, you must purchase a hat in the gift shop for 25 cents, and then you can take it to the ice cream vendor and get ice cream in it.  I wonder why they just didn't raise the price 25 cents?  Just my thoughts!
