42: Bringing Up Girls

Friday, I finished reading this. It was a great read, and also gave me the urge to not let Claire ever leave our home until she was about 24, and dress her in Gymboree clothing and large hair bows until her 18th birthday.

25: Just Call me Grace

Last night, at 11:37...I realized I forgot to take my daily vitamin.
Thank goodness, this little bundle of joy was NOT in my arms.
I ended up laying in the floor...taking Advil, and crying like a little baby...
Because I tripped over this. Flipped over the front of it.
And smacked my jaw on this. The very hard corner of the couch. I have a bruise on the side of my face...Just call me Grace.

12: Cabin Fever?

Jackson got in my make up bag and applied mascara...Blake did not think this was as funny as I did...

Ready for out outing to the mall...

Although we didn't have cabin fever, and LOVED the snow, we were ready to get out and about on Wednesday. We bundled up and went to the mall for a little while. We let Jackson play on the mall playground, and I went and bought Jackson and Claire SUMMER clothes, of all things! Do you love Claire's new sunhat?

6: Sick Day...

Lysol. Disinfectant. Stomach Virus for Mama. Yuck!!!

5: I'm a Mall Walker....

So...in my attempt to keep my January goal...I mall walked yesterday! It was raining outside, so I couldn't run the neighborhood. We were going to church last night, so I couldn't go to the gym. Normally, I would have found that as the perfect excuse to just not exercise, but instead, I loaded up my crew, and headed to the mall. I walked for 30 minutes, pushing approximately 50 pounds of cargo. It was a pretty good workout. Ha! I treated (bribed) Jackson with a cookie and playtime at the mall playground if he was cooperative, and it worked. I have a feeling we will be doing this more during these cold months ahead!

Here we go.....

Well...it is that time of year again...time for those resolutions and new beginnings....tonight, I am going to eat pizza, drink a Sprite, and eat a piece of cake. Maybe drink some sparkling cider. Then, I am going to start shrinking. I am ready.

No diet this year though. I am making some lifestyle changes that are going to make me a healthier mama. I don't have 2 hours to go to the gym every day, and my family isn't going to go frozen Weight Watchers meals for every meal. Doing this the good ole' fashioned way. Healthy eating and exercise. I have a friend helping me out, and I am pretty excited. She even said I could visit the Starbucks drive thru once per week (good thing...I got $80 in gift cards for Christmas).

January Goals:
1. Drink 64 ounces of water per day.
2. Exercise for just 30 minutes, 5-6 days per week. We got a Wii for Christmas. My brother loaned me his Wii fit...can we say nap time fun? Ha!!
3. Minimal sugar, well, because sweets are my downfall.

Here we go again....stay tuned for updates. Last year, our family was going to play Biggest Loser, but I found out I was pregnant again, so I quit. I can pretty much guarantee that is not happening this time...so here we go...

Hey Ya'll

Extreme Close Up Cooking Set

Paula Dean and her hubby

She was that close!
Last weekend, my mom and I went to the Expo for Women downtown. My mom got us both tickets, because she loves Paula Dean. She is one of my favorite cooks, too. Mom watches her cooking show alot, and I like her because I used to be really intimidated in the kitchen, and after being given some of her cook books, she made cooking sound really easy. And I like seeing someone smile if I make something good for them to eat!
Mom and I originally went to get our cookbooks signed, but even though we arrrived really early, there were approximately 7,000 people in front of us, and it just wasn't going to happen. So, we went and sat down for the cooking show about 2 1/2 hours early, and got really good seats. We ended up meeting up with my good friend Melissa and her mother in law, so the time went by pretty quick.
The "cooking show" was really good. She actually spent more time interacting with the audience than actually cooking, and she was very personable and just really nice. She walked around the audience and got about 3 feet from us, and my mom was smiling from ear to ear. It was such a fun day.

A Case of the Monday Crazies

This morning, I was microwaving Jackson's grits. Such a good southern fella. I got his gourmet breakfast out of the microwave, and realized I had failed to adhere to step 2 of the complicated 3 step process, add 1/2 cup of water, to the cooking process. Basically, I nuked the sand like substance. I tried again, and did follow all of the directions. Success!

Mama

Jackson called me mama! Blake was giving Mr. Jack a bath Saturday night, and he was getting a bit fussy, because it was almost time for him to eat. I was putting up laundry, and he saw me walk by the bathroom, and he said, "Mama!" He has said it several other times this week, and it just totally melts my heart. I love being Jackson's mama!
