Sunday Snapshots: Mother's Day Edition

We celebrated Mother's Day with my mom on Saturday night. My dad treated us both to dinner at Bonefish. Then, we went back to their house and had Key Lime Pie, and sang karoake. It was hilarious. It was nice being able to spend time with my parents on Saturday night, and not be so rushed on Sunday. Jackson and Claire love their Nana, and she adores them, too!

On Sunday, we went to church. Our pastor's wife spoke, and it was such a blessing to me. I was reminded of how much influence I do have in my home, and the importance of striving to be a Godly influence to my husband and children.

We had lunch at Blake's grandmother's house. Jackson had fun running around outside, and got to see a rooster...he was pretty excited about that. He fell asleep and was not awake when Nandee opened her gift from him and Claire...They put their handprints on a piece of canvas for them....They turned out pretty cute, but it was no small task getting Claire's tiny hands to cooperate! My babies also love their Nandee!

So thankful for two sets of grandparents that love their grandbabies.

Then, Blake got Red Lobster to go for dinner...We sat around and watched The Secratariot, and had a nice relaxing night at home.

Thankful for Blake, my babies, and the mother and mother in law I have in my life. They are all such blessings to me!

Great is Thy faithfulness!

Great is Thy faithfulness!

Morning by morning new mercies I see;

All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—

Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

The Mommy Book

I woke up to my three favorite people on Mother's Day.
I was greeted with a few gifts, Special K, and a placemat decorated with things to remind me of my babies (Thomas and Mater...a slightly oversized hair bow and pacifier).

Nice touch, babe.

My favorite gift was "The Mommy Book." Blake purchased a black scrapbook with blank pages, and filled up a couple of them for Mother's Day. He plans to add to it each year on Mother's Day with memories/memorabilia of our children.

He even left ONE blank page after Claire's introductory page....I guess that means there could be the slight possibility that Jackson could get that baby brother he has been asking for. Maybe one day. In the future. Maybe. .......In the future.

He interviewed Jackson.

Q:How much do you love mommy?
A: All the way to the moon and back.
Nice, sweet, pulled those heartstrings.

Q: What does mommy look like?

A: She looks like an elephant.

Love that Blake is so thoughtful. I love my "Mommy Book," and will treasure it when I am old and gray...sitting in my rocker on my front porch. And chuckle with sweet tears when I think about my first Mother's Day with my daughter, and the year Jackson said his mama looked like an elephant!

Claire's Birth Day was amazing. I prayed many specific prayers over my pregnancy, her delivery, and her first few moments in this world. God answered. Every. Single. One. We give Him all the praise for her life, and thank Him for this beautiful gift, our daughter, Madeline Claire.
