29 Weeks

Our baby girl has a name! Yay!! We are naming her Madeline Claire Freeman, and are going to call her Claire. It is time to start monogramming those sweet initials on all things pink. We also picked out paint colors this weekend, and are going to start getting her room ready next weekend. We picked out the colors, "Fairest of them All," and "Pretty in Pink." Blake is going to paint the top half of the wall the lighter pink, and the bottom the brighter pink, and put a chair rail up in her room. I am excited about starting this project! Yay!!

We had an awesome church service this morning. I usually keep our blog pretty light hearted, and is usually just updates with what is going on with us, but I thought I would share just a little bit of what has been going on, and how BIG my God is, and how much He loves and cares for me.

Ever since I found out I was pregnant with baby girl, I have pretty much known I will have to have another cesarean with this baby's delivery. This was something I really struggled with after I had Jackson...I don't know why....it was not that bad, and my recovery was really easy, but it scared the heebie jeebies out of me! I get scared when I think about doing it again. These little fears have been creeping up in other areas of my life too....worrying about Blake, Jackson, and other things big and small...things that I have no control over.

This morning at church, I was praying and I was gently and sweetly reminded that God has not given me a Spirit of fear, but of love, and that he is a shield for me. He protects His children. His word tells me so. He protects Blake, Jackson, me, and is a shield for all of these things (great and small) that I am carrying around and worrying about. So I prayed, and surrendered these things to him...and my load has been a lot lighter this afternoon.

With all that being said, tonight, we were leaving my parents' house, and Jackson was walking down the front porch steps, which he has done tons of times, and somehow leans forward and does a front flip of the porch. It looked awful, and of course scared me...Blake picked him up...he was crying...guess what? He had a tiny scratch on his face. That is all. God protected my little guy. He is taking good care of him, and maybe I just shouldn't worry so much.

I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4

As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him. 2 Samuel 22:31

28 Weeks

The meteorologist commented that this was one of the hottest July's on record. As I watched the 5 day forecast, and saw triple digit temperatures flash across the screen (for three days in a row), I told Blake to make sure to remind Baby Girl of this mama's labor of love when she is 13 and giving me all kinds of grief.

26 Weeks, 3 Days Doctor Visit

Yesterday, I went for a routine check up. It was a nice, quick, and easy visit, for which I am grateful. My blood pressure was 110/68, and I have gained a total of 13 pounds. Baby Girl's heartbeat was in the 140s. I go back in three weeks for the fabulous glucose test, and an ultrasound.

So far, it seems like this pregnancy is flying by! We have moved everything out of the future nursery, with the exception of the piano. I think we are going to go pick out a paint color this weekend. Bring on the pink!!

22ish Week Doctor Visit

I went to visit the doctor today to get Ms. Baby Girl checked out. She is doing great. Her heart rate was 140. My blood pressure was 120/70. I have gained 9 pounds so far. I go back in 4 weeks, and at that time they will also schedule the ole' sugar test for right at 28 weeks. I know I can't study for that test, but it sure would be nice to pass it! I am an overacheiver in case you didn't know! I am so thankful that my girl is doing so good! All 3 of us love her so much already!!

Getting Ready for Our Girl

Since Blake is off work this month, we are trying to get just a couple of things finished around the house before school starts back. The first one will probably take forever: cleaning out the office/playroom/catch-all room that will soon be our new nursery. It is a mess!! I can't even bring myself to post the before pictures of the room because there is so much STUFF in there. We (Blake and a selected moving crew) will be taking my piano back to my parents' house, trying to figure out what to do with the nice desk that we really don't have room for, and doing something with a huge chest of heirloom quilts that belong to me. Also, the closet if filled to the max....so more decluttering at the the Freeman's! My goal is to have the room empty by the end of the month or the first of July.
We did put our girls' bed and furniture in lay a way a few weeks ago. I thought I would get white furniture, but in the end we liked a dark wood, and it was on sale!

We also got her bedding while we were on vacation last week. I found a Pottery Barn Kids in Birmingham, and we stopped on the way home, and I am glad I actually got to pick it out in person. We ended up deciding on something that I probably would not have even looked at twice on the website. It is just different shades of pink plaid, and I want her room to look simple and girly, so I think this is a good start. Below are some pictures I copied off of the web site of her bedding.

Feeling pretty good, and she is moving alot, it is just really hot!

18 Weeks

It's a....GIRL!

On Thursday, I had an appointment for "The Big Ultrasound," and an appointment to see my doctor. Before I became pregnant with Jackson, I just thought the doctor was doing a planning favor for the family by letting them know the gender of the baby, but I know now that this is a very important picture of all of the anatomy of your baby, to check and make sure that everything is healthy, and developing normally. Blake and I have been praying, since before we even found out we were pregnant, that our baby would be healthy, and God answered our prayer!

We got to the doctor's office about 8:30 (because I just had to be the first appointment), and at the last minute decided to take Jackson with us to the appointment, so he could see what is going on with our little family. We got called back to the ultrasound room about 9:00, and had the best ultrasound tech I have ever seen! She scanned, and scanned, and scanned. And explained every single thing she was doing. She scanned the heart and brain, and took TONS of pictures...at one point, I even asked her if everything was okay. She explained that she used to work at a high risk practice that dealt with prenatal heart defects at Vanderbuilt (I think), and she was just doing the protocol for the work she used to do before coming to the practice I go to. She assured us our baby looked just perfect.

Blake and I had seriously considered not finding out the gender of our baby, as I know it would have been so exciting to wait and find out when the baby was born. In the end, we just couldn't wait. So for a couple of personal reasons, we decided to find out. Jackson has been saying for months he was getting a baby sister, and Blake and I were pretty convinced that Jackson was going to get a baby brother....but Jackson was right.....he is getting a baby sister!! I shot up off the ultrasound table, and said, "WHAT??" and Blake (he is so Type A), goes a little bit crazy...thinking about weddings, prom dresses, dates, and frilly, pink tutus. The ultrasound tech actually asked him if he was going to be okay. Tears started streaming down my cheeks, so excited about this sweet baby girl that we are going to welcome into our family this Fall.

I then went back to Dr. Childs area of the office for a weight check, and blood pressure check. I have gained 1 pound this pregnancy, and my blood pressure is normal. We went into his office, and he looked over my file, and said everything looked great with Baby Girl. We then discussed some blood sugar concerns, and a couple of other things I wanted to discuss with him. Still watching all the carbs...and I got a pat on the back for the 1 pound weight gain in 18 weeks!

To celebrate, the three of us went to Starbucks and had a nice breakfast, before Blake went back to work (wearing a pink neck tie). I, then, headed to Hamilton Place with Robin and Ben! I purchased several pink items, including a pink tutu. And I bought Jackson, Rosie (a pink train from Thomas and Friends).

It was fun sharing our news with everyone. We let Jackson tell his grandparents, and everyone seems to be excited. She is already acquiring quite the wardrobe, and someone (I suspect my sweet neighbors across the street), put a vase of pink roses on our porch Thursday night. God is so faithful to our family, and continues to pour out unspeakable JOY into our lives. We love you, sweet baby GIRL!

"I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well." Psalm 139:14
