55: Thankful Thursday

Jackson and I made homemade granola bars tonight. This is his recipe. He wrote it himself.

I am thankful for my almost 3 year old, and all of the zest and enjoyment he has for life. He finds happiness in the smallest things, and has interest in everything around him.

We signed up for preschool today. That is a big deal around here.

I am thankful for these milestones, although, they are bitter sweet.

I am thankful for my son.

53: The 230 Dollar Nap

Jackson normally naps from 1-3. He lays down in our bed. He goes to sleep. On most days, this is a non-issue. Today, he laid down. I didn't hear a peep out of him for quite some time...assuming he was asleep...nap time ritual, right?

Blake and I were in the kitchen talking, and I decided to go check on our sleeping wonder. He wasn't in the bed. That was kind of scary...he was not visible in the room. Because he was in our closet. Decorating was the term Jackson used. Decorating the carpet. Decorating the door. Decorating a Vera Bradley purse. Decorating a blue shirt. Decorating himself. Decorating Blake's brand new Wallabees. With red finger nail polish.

We have started un-decorating by scrubbing our son down with acetone. Tomorrow, I will get started on the rest.

52: All Better!!!

My goodness! After 6 doctor visits, too many prescriptions to count, not sleeping for 2 weeks, and 14 days of being cooped up in this house...I do think we are all better!! Yesterday, Claire went back to the doctor for a horrible cough that is keeping her up all night...the doctor thought she had RSV, but the test came back negative..just a bad respiratory virus. Praise the Lord! I am ready to get out and enjoy this awesome weather...Spring is just around the corner! :)

51: Dedicating Claire

"I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well." Psalm 139:14

All good things, God has given, and he’s given, this little life.

Everything is so perfect

Lord you made

Her perfect, when you made this little life.

An eternal soul is placed in our safe keeping, to love care for and raise, in the way she should go.

We bow our hearts and say thank you, Lord we thank you, for this little life.

The greatest treasures we possess, are these little lives, for Jesus said suffer the little children,

to come unto me, for as such is the kingdom of heaven.

For all good things, God has given, and now were

Given, Thanks unto You.

My earnings were significantly higher than the $1.50 I made at the Spring Yard sale. I even had profits after buying the mound of clothes in the photo above.

I went shopping at the consignment sale last night....I found great stuff for Jackson and Claire! Everything I purchased looks brand new. Very excited about my deals!! Of course, there were more girl things to choose from than boy, but that is nothing I am not used to. I kind of like the challenge of finding cute things for Jackson to wear that do not have skulls, crossbones, peace signs, etc. on them. Anybody else have a hard time finding cute things for your toddler/preschool boy? If not, where are some good places to look without breaking the bank?
